Taking Time for Yourself During Pregnancy
Self-care rituals, relaxation, and pampering ideas.

It's easy to neglect yourself when your focus is on the baby. So here's a reminder: taking care of yourself is not selfish. A happy, healthy mom is one of the best gifts a baby can have. Self-care covers your body, your feelings, and your social life.
Physical self-care: enjoy a warm (not hot) bath once or twice a week, book a prenatal massage with a certified therapist, keep up with hair and nail care, and wear comfortable maternity clothes you feel good in. These may seem like small things, but they can do wonders for your mood.
Emotional self-care: set aside 15 minutes a day that are just for you, with a book, music, or time outdoors. Keeping a pregnancy journal, writing letters to your baby, and taking photos help you hold on to this time. Saying "no" is self-care too; you don't have to accept every invitation.
Social self-care: keep seeing your friends. Prenatal yoga or exercise groups are a great way to meet women at the same stage. Make time for your partner during these months, too. And feel free to step away from online communities that leave you feeling worse.
