Fever and Infections During Pregnancy
Safe fever reduction, flu, urinary tract infections, and prevention.

Fever during pregnancy requires attention especially in the first trimester. If your fever reaches 38°C (100.4°F) or above, it is best to consult your doctor without delay. Determining the cause of fever and getting appropriate support is important.
For fever reduction: Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is considered a safe option during pregnancy — it can be used at your doctor's recommended dose. Ibuprofen and aspirin should not be used during pregnancy without your doctor's recommendation; avoiding these medications is especially advised from the 20th week onward. Warm compresses and plenty of fluids can also help.
Urinary tract infections may occur more frequently during pregnancy. If you notice symptoms like frequent urination, burning, cloudy urine, or lower abdominal pain, sharing with your doctor is best. Drinking plenty of water and wiping front to back after using the bathroom are preventive habits.
If you experience fever above 38°C (100.4°F), chills, severe pain during urination, rash, or shortness of breath, contacting your doctor is the safest approach for your peace of mind. Not taking medication on your own during pregnancy and asking your doctor about the safety of every medication is very important.
